Match Masters Guide for beginners covers everything you need to start playing with confidence, from understanding the basic rules to using boosters, earning trophies, and climbing the rankings.
Whether you’re installing the game for the first time or struggling to win consistently, and aren’t sure what a “booster bar” or “perk” actually does, this guide explains every core mechanic in a simple, beginner-friendly way.
What Is Match Masters?
Match Masters is a competitive match-3 game by Candivore where you play real-time 1v1 matches against other players instead of against a static level.
There’s no raid or attack mechanic here — the entire game is built around outscoring your opponent on the board using boosters and perks, then climbing a trophy-based ranking ladder.
How a Match Actually Works
Use Your Perk Once Per Match: Perks like Hammer or Shuffle are one-time, pre-selected tools that reshape the board in your favor and don’t cost you a move to use.
Trophies and Ranking Up
Trophies are Match Masters’ core progression currency. A win typically adds around 25 trophies; a loss deducts a smaller amount and costs you the booster you had equipped for that match.
Losing a booster is the real penalty — it’s why picking a booster you’re willing to risk matters more than picking your rarest one every time.
What Unlocks as You Progress
Trophy milestones steadily unlock new content: your first extra perk (Hammer) arrives around 200 trophies, new themed studios with unique board twists (“mixers”) unlock every few hundred trophies.
After that, and reaching the Master League around 3,800 trophies opens up faster-paced modes. The long-term ranking goal is the Legends League at 30,000 trophies.

Common Beginner Mistakes (and How to Avoid Them)
| Mistake | Why It Hurts You | What to Do Instead |
|---|---|---|
| Equipping your rarest booster in every match | Losing forfeits it — a bad matchup can cost you your best asset | Save top-tier boosters for matches you expect to win |
| Ignoring perks entirely | Free board-changing value with no move cost is left on the table | Always select a perk before starting, even a basic one |
| Chasing every event | Some events burn boosters for marginal reward | Prioritize events with the best reward-to-effort ratio |
| Never joining a team | Misses Team Competition rewards and team perks entirely | Join a team as soon as it’s available — there’s no real downside |
Match Masters comes down to one habit above all others: don’t gamble your best booster on a match you’re not confident about. Everything past that — studio mixers, event timing, trophy grinding — is optimization on top of a loop you now understand.
FAQ
Is Match Masters free to play?
Yes. Every mode, booster tier, and event is reachable without spending money, though progress is faster with good booster and perk management.
Does Match Masters have raids or boss fights?
No — those mechanics belong to other coin-looter games. Match Masters is entirely built around 1v1 match-3 competition, boosters, and perks.
What happens if I lose a match?
You lose a small number of trophies and forfeit the booster you had equipped for that match — your perk selection isn't affected the same way if it was a free perk.
What's the difference between a booster and a perk?
Boosters are charged mid-match by matching blue stars and can be used repeatedly once charged. Perks are chosen before the match and used once.
What should a brand-new player focus on first?
Learn the four-round match flow, always select a perk, and don't risk your best booster until you're comfortable reading the board.
